The situation in Artsakh is as it is: dire, but, nevertheless, we are determined. The "body" of Karabakh is wounded, but the "spirit" is not broken. Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Foreign Minister David Babayan told this to reporters in Yerevan on Saturday.
"Let everyone know that," Babayan added. "Despite various provocations, despite Azerbaijan's pressure, we will not deviate from the ‘road’ we have chosen. And there have always been shootings, provocations, and, sadly, there will be, as that is the ‘style’ of the enemy."
When asked about his recent visit to Brussels, the Artsakh FM noted that a number of meetings were held there.
"There are healthy forces in Europe who are concerned about the situation created by the criminal actions of the Azerbaijani-Turkish terrorist alliance, which poses a threat not only to Artsakh and Armenia, but to the entire civilized world. It is a matter of time. It's just that we were the first; it is the turn of the others. Time will show.
If the civilized world turns a blind eye to what is happening, the destruction of [Armenian] cultural values, the [Armenian] cultural genocide talking place in the Karabakh territories occupied by Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan's Armenophobic policy, terrorism, the time factor will affect even earlier. In fact, the attacks on the civilized world have begun long ago. Let's recall what vocabulary [Turkish President] Erdogan was using when addressing the French president," Babayan noted.
The Artsakh FM added that all his meetings in Brussels were important, during which humanitarian issues, the need for the release of all Armenian captives and detainees in Azerbaijan, and the Armenian cultural genocide perpetrated by Azerbaijan were discussed, and Russia's role as one of the key forces in maintaining peace and stability in the region was lauded.
