Given that Azerbaijan has been resorting to various provocations in various directions of the line of contact in the last ten days, it is very likely that the explosion of the natural gas pipeline entering Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) from Armenia occurred at the initiative of Azerbaijan. Tigran Abrahamyan, an MP from the opposition "With Honor" Faction in the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia and a security expert, told about this to reporters Wednesday in the NA.

"It is very likely that since the control of the gas pipeline is mainly of the Azerbaijani troops in that sector, a purely terrorist act by Azerbaijan could have taken place in that part," he said.

Abrahamyan noted that it should be taken into account the fact that during the last week there was a military aggression by Azerbaijan toward Yeraskh village of Armenia, as a result of which the Armenian side has one casualty and one wounded.

"In the sector of Khramord village of the Askeran region and Norshen and Taghavard villages of the Martuni region [of Artsakh], Azerbaijan is manifesting provocations of various kinds, which start with firing from small arms, use of small artillery, grenade launcher, as well as psychological attack (…).

Besides, the Azerbaijani soldiers are constantly yelling in various directions that ‘sooner or later we will enter and massacre all of you.’ That is, there is a systemic attack, which takes on various natures (…), by Azerbaijan in the direction of Artsakh. The most dangerous is that there was no response from Armenia’s authorities in connection with this situation," the opposition lawmaker stressed.
