Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas on Friday, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry informed NEWS.am.
The sides discussed the current activities of CSTO, the implementation of decisions of the Collective Security Council and the schedule of upcoming events.
Both sides highlighted the importance of implementing Armenia's chairmanship priorities in the context of developing the Organization's potential.
Mirzoyan highlighted the necessity to continue the works aimed at the improvement of the Organization's crisis response mechanisms.
The Armenian Minister also touched upon the situation created after the Azerbaijani armed forces' incursion into the village of Parukh in Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding territories, which are in the Russian peacekeeping forces' zone of responsibility.
Zas presented the security situation in the CSTO area and the current challenges, and informed about the negotiation process of the documents being discussed within the CSTO framework.
The interlocutors also touched upon other regional and international issues of importance for the CSTO member states.
