The United States, as a friend and partner of Armenia, and as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, is committed to assisting in the search for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, US Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy told at the Armenian Genocide memorial complex.

Over the past months, Secretary Blinken has made numerous phone calls with heads of state, calling for a de-escalation of the situation, as well as contact with each other to build a peace process, the ambassador said.

She recalled that on March 25 they issued a statement in which they touched on efforts to move Azerbaijani troops and destabilize the situation.

The US calls on the parties to refrain from threatening and hostile rhetoric, which does not help the process. No doubt the negotiations will be difficult. This is a complex conflict that has developed over many years. We welcome the words of the Prime Minister last week and we consider his message important and call on all parties to come out with similar peace-supporting messages, Tracy said.
