We have not yet passed on to the decisive stage, everything is still ahead, the movement is gaining momentum. Artur Vanetsyan—the leader of the "With Honor" Faction of the National Assembly and chairman of the opposition Homeland party of Armenia—on Wednesday told this to reporters at Freedom Square in downtown Yerevan.

"In the beginning, there was an atmosphere of fear. People were afraid to be targeted—either on social media, at work or by certain groups. But the people have already made their decision. All that remains is for us to 'pack' correctly and finish the struggle," he said.

According to Vanetsyan, many people who come to Freedom Square talk about social problems and expect their solution.

"People realize that they cannot live well without long-term security guarantees," he added, in particular.

The opposition MP said that the next phase of their fight will start in the near future, and at that phase they will talk about what plans they have and will say what they will do after a change of power.

Vanetsyan expressed confidence that some police officers are simply forced to carry out "unlawful orders of the authorities."

To note, on April 17, Artur Vanetsyan had announced the start of their unspecified protest actions. And on Monday the opposition parliamentary forces announced the second active phase of their struggle—launching decentralized and networked actions.
