Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and other heads of the governments of the EEU member states, who are in Kyrgyzstan on a working visit, met with President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov.

The heads of the delegations were met by Kirgiz Prime Minister Akylbek Japarov and accompanied the guests to the meeting hall, the press service of the Kyrgyz government told NEWS.am.

Japarov welcomed the heads of the governments and expressed hope that the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, which will be held in Cholpon-Ata, will be effective for the development of further cooperation.

In turn, Pashinyan thanked the president of Kyrgyzstan for the warm welcome and said, "We have a very important meeting, we have a large and rich agenda that includes important issues. I hope that we will be able to come to specific decisions and leave as little work as possible for the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.

I would like to say that in the Eurasian Economic Area the negative forecasts were not justified, and on the contrary, our perception of the situation was justified, because we have actually recorded that the new situation that emerges after the pandemic, of course, brings with it new challenges, but also creates new opportunities.

I'm very pleased that we're focused on this agenda, which is about managing the challenges and taking advantage of the opportunities that are opening up. When we look at the indicators of trade turnover within the Eurasian Economic Union, we see that there is a high rate of growth compared to 2021. Of course, we need to fix this, but we should not relax, because the hard times, unfortunately, are not over yet. We need to concentrate to try to maintain the momentum that exists in the trade turnover between the EAEU countries. I am confident that we will work effectively, and the decisions we take will benefit our citizens, our countries and our Union."
