At Friday’s Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting in Kyrgyzstan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia called for more active use of the advantages of the digital economy within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

According to him, digitization creates a strong basis for effective integration and interaction between the EEU member countries in the high tech industry.

The Armenian PM noted that for the construction of a transport and logistics complex of the EEU, it is necessary to synchronize economic policies at the national and supranational levels, and to ensure the integrity of approaches regarding the development and operation of integration infrastructure projects.

Also, he expressed confidence that the creation of cooperative chains and the use of tools of financial institutions will be an effective stimulus for the development of industrial cooperation.

According to Pashinyan, another important direction is the development of e-commerce, and oversight in trade becomes even more urgent.

"Taking into account that the matter is sensitive, it is necessary to move with joint forces and operatively toward improving the normative and legal environment of e-commerce," added the Armenian prime minister.
