From the moment when it became known about the attack of Azerbaijan, the members of the Security Council were summoned to me, a session of the Security Council took place, a discussion, a consultation which continued until dawn. This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan Tuesday morning at the Republic of Armenia National Assembly (RA NA).

“The RA President, the NA President [also] attended. Based on the results of that session, we made a decision to petition to the CSTO. A session of the CSTO Permanent Council is held in connection with that petition. We also appealed to the Russian Federation—on the basis of the 1997 Treaty on Friendship and Mutual Assistance. We have decided to petition to the UN Security Council so that the situation can be discussed as a matter of urgency.

At night, I had telephone conversations with the President of the Russian Federation, the President of France, the President of Iran, the US Secretary of State, and President Charles Michel of the European Council. The Minister of Defense had a conversation with his Russian counterpart. We are working in these directions to stabilize the situation as quickly as possible," Pashinyan emphasized.

Azerbaijan opened fire early hours on Tuesday near the Armenian borders. The reports have been confirmed by the Armenian defense ministry spokesperson who said that the adversary also used UAVs. The Armenian side has casualties and wounded. The Armenian death toll has reached 49. The defense ministry said it will regularly issue official reports on the situation developments.
