Armenia has all the financial capabilities to acquire necessary defensive armament,  Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told the parliament on Tuesday answering the questions of the MPs.

Nevertheless, there are four components for arms acquisition: financial, political, technical and transport, he said.

"There are no financial problems, but there are problems in the political field. There are countries which are not ready to sell us weapons. There are countries which are ready to sell us weapons but they don't have the necessary weapons," Pashinyan said.

As for the transportation component, the PM particularly mentioned that Armenia has no access to sea in order to purchase weapons from an international seller and to bring them to the country.

Azerbaijan opened fire early hours on Tuesday near the Armenian borders. The reports have been confirmed by the Armenian defense ministry spokesperson who said that the adversary also used UAVs. The Armenian side has casualties and wounded. The Armenian death toll has reached 49. The defense ministry said it will regularly issue official reports on the situation developments.
