Armenian Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan on Monday met with Russian President's Special Representative for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy and head of the Russian President's Department for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries Igor Maslov.
Dumanyan spoke about the Days of Armenian Culture in Russia program and the Days of Russian Spiritual Culture in Armenia program during the meeting, NEWS.am was informed at the press service of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports. It was mentioned that there were Days of Armenian Culture in the Russian Federation on June 10-13, 2022 in the framework of celebrating the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation. The events were organized in Moscow and Kislovodsk. On October 6-7 of this year the Days of Russia's Spiritual Culture in Armenia were planned.
The sides also touched upon the cooperation between the two countries in the sphere of cinematographic industry. The Russians expressed their readiness to support the Armenian films, which are included in the UNESCO calendar of important events and celebrities in the framework of the 100th anniversary of Armenian cinema, which is scheduled for 2023, to organize the digitalization of the Armenian films, produced during the Soviet period and now preserved in the Russian State Film Fund's archive. It was also proposed to consider the possibility of organizing joint screening of films of "Armenfilm" studio production at "Illusion" cinema in the framework of the jubilee events.
In the course of the meeting other issues of bilateral interest were also discussed.
