Alexander Skakov, deputy director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, said this on the NEWS.am program The Power Factor. "Communication is normal, admissible and achievable, but a corridor with extraterritoriality is from the sphere of fiction," he noted.

The expert is not sure that Iran is ready for any active military action against Azerbaijan.

"But this does not mean that it will do nothing. One thing is a dispute on the non-demarcated border, another thing is aggression against Armenia itself in order to cut a corridor between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan. These are completely different things. It's impossible, and Baku won't go for it," Skakov added.

He believes that such actions will cause a huge negative reaction not only from Iran or Russia, but also from the whole world.
