Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan chaired an extraordinary session of the CSTO Collective Security Council in videoconference format.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zass took part in the meeting, the press service of the Armenian government informed NEWS.am.

During the meeting the report of CSTO Secretary General on the results of the mission sent to Armenia by protocol decision, adopted at the session of the Collective Security Council on September 13 this year, was discussed.

During the meeting the Armenian Prime Minister noted that the report of the Secretary General mainly reflects the existing realities, particularly the fact of the Azerbaijani units' intrusion into Armenia's sovereign territory and the danger of such a phenomenon repeating, as well as the need for the Azerbaijani forces to return to their initial positions.

Pashinyan touched upon Armenia's expectations in terms of the response by the CSTO. He reiterated the need for a clear political assessment by CSTO on the Azerbaijani aggression unleashed against the sovereign territory of Armenia on May 12, 2021 and afterwards, including September 13-14, 2022, and the formation of a clear road map to restore the territorial integrity of Armenia.

As a result of the meeting, the CSTO foreign ministers were instructed to coordinate a draft decision.
