The congress of the ruling Civil Contract Party (CCP) of Armenia has started.
CCP founder, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is addressing the congress.
CCP member lawmakers, community leaders, provincial governors, various officials, as well as guests are attending the congress being held in Yerevan's Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex.
As reported earlier, the congress was originally scheduled to be held on September 18, but it was postponed due to the tensions on the border with Azerbaijan.
At the congress, the party shall elect the new composition of its board.
The CCP held its previous—fifth—congress in June 2019, and Suren Papikyan—who is currently serving as defense minister—was elected as the chairman of the party board.
