The ambitions of the military and political leadership of Azerbaijan have no historical, legal and moral grounds, as Artsakh has never been and can never be part of Azerbaijan, Artsakh Parliament speaker Artur Tovmasyan said at the Saturday's extraordinary session of the National Assembly of Artsakh.

"I appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, Iranian President Raisi, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the Armenian people. This small territory is not a threat.

But the right of the people of Artsakh to live in their homeland is under threat. Recognize Artsakh's right to self-determination.

Today more than ever, the Armenian people must act in unity.

National unity and solidarity must be the main factor to withstand the unpredictable geopolitical situation and challenges. We will continue our efforts to protect the results of the liberation struggle for self-determination and security of the people of Artsakh.

We sincerely hope that during the trilateral meeting in Sochi no document will be signed that will ignore the existence of the Artsakh issue, endanger the prospects for its settlement and limit the exercise of the Artsakh people's right to self-determination. The way we have chosen is fair. Artsakh was, is and will be," Tovmasyan noted.
