Any proposal or document that would consider Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan will be rejected, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh David Babayan said during a rally held today, at Stepanakert's Renaissance Square.
"Indeed, we are living in difficult times, we face ontological threats. Moreover, not only Artsakh, but also Mother Armenia and the Diaspora face ontological threats. The future largely depends on Artsakh. We have to work both internally and externally to get out of this difficult situation with honor. Most importantly, we must not be indifferent. It is indifference that can destroy us, though it may seem like the most innocent act. Our future depends on each of us, is it victory or defeat? As for the external field, of course, we are working hard together with all Armenians. We must be principled and we must attach special importance to professionalism and patriotism," the Minister said.
He underlined that any proposal, a document which would consider Artsakh to be a part of Azerbaijan is unacceptable and will be rejected.
"In case of such proposals from various countries and international structures, we will consider them as a gross violation of international law. Believe that we are capable of protecting Artsakh. Each of us has this potential in us. We should not believe if they say we are unable to defend ourselves," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh, stressing that it depends on everyone whether decent and principled generation will be able to save this biblical land of Artsakh in spite of all difficulties.
David Babayan expressed his conviction that this mission will be realized by joint efforts.
"I am confident because we have Yerablur, Tsitsernakaberd, Shushi looking at us. After all, how will we face our children tomorrow, our elderly, our grieving wives and mothers? How will we stand before the memory of our heroes and what answer will we give before God? Consequently, we must all know that our destinies are one and there will be no games behind the backs of the people. We will all stick together and defend Artsakh, no matter the difficulties, and there is a chance to save Artsakh," the Minister added, praising the role of Russia in maintaining peace and stability in the region while carrying out a difficult peacekeeping mission.
"When we say that the Russian people and Russia are brotherly, we want to announce to the world that this is not directed against any state, because we, as a people with a Diaspora, have no right to think so. So let us fight, unite, never despair," Babayan concluded.
