Europe will not be able to exclude Russia from the process of normalization of relations between Yerevan and Baku. Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed such a view when asked how the meeting of the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Prague, initiated by the EU, was related to their meeting in Sochi.

"As for the meeting in Prague without Russia's participation, why without our participation is understandable and there is no need to explain to anyone. Our European partners conduct their policy in such a way as to try to exclude Russia from all formats. It is clear that in some situations it is absolutely unrealistic, impossible, as, for example, in this case. But we, for our part, always welcome any efforts towards settlement. Therefore, as for how that meeting is related to the Sochi meeting, then it is related in a completely natural way. And we support everything aimed at reducing and settling the confrontation," he said.

As already reported, the Russia-Armenia-Azerbaijan summit was held in Sochi, Russia. The Russian president had separate meetings with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, after which a tripartite meeting was held.

On October 6, a meeting was held in the Czech capital Prague with the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Azerbaijan at the initiative of Charles Michel, the President of the European Council, and Emmanuel Macron, the President of France.
