The interference of foreigners will deepen the problems of the Caucasus region. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi announced this at the press conference with visiting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan after their bilateral meeting, IRNA reports.

"I have no doubt that the first visit of the Prime Minister of Armenia to the Islamic Republic of Iran will be a turning point for the progress of both countries. The policy of good neighborliness is a priority for our government, and during this period we had several meetings with Pashinyan. In these meetings, especially during this trip, the focus of the negotiations is the development of commercial, economic, and security relations between the two countries," Raisi said.

He noted that the good relations between the two countries will definitely lead to the improvement of relations at the regional and international level.

Speaking about the fact that the Caucasus region is a part of Iran's history, civilization and culture, Raisi noted that security and peace in the Caucasus are very important for Iran.

"During the bilateral negotiations with the Prime Minister of Armenia, both sides emphasized that the solution of regional problems should be in the hands of officials and people who are part of the region, and any interference by foreigners will create problems in the region—instead of resolving them."

The Iranian president expressed hope that during this visit of the Armenian PM, it will be possible to implement the agreements between Tehran and Yerevan.
