Soviet Armenian philologist Mikhail Amirkhanyan has been awarded the Pushkin Medal. The Russian ambassador to Armenia informed this during a meeting Monday with students and faculty of Valery Brusov State University in Yerevan.
Sergey Kopirkin noted that this medal was awarded by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Amirkhanyan was awarded for his contribution to the development of cultural, humanitarian ties between Armenia and Russia," added the Russian envoy.
