Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in France on a working visit, met with French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna on November 11, the Armenian MFA reported.

Mirzoyan and Colonna highlighted the high level of Armenian-French privileged relations based on the friendship of the two peoples and common values. The interlocutors discussed issues related to the rich agenda of cooperation between the two countries.

Ararat Mirzoyan presented the interlocutor the recent developments in the development of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the position of the Armenian side on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the demarcation process of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and the unblocking of the regional transport infrastructure. The Armenian FM noted that Azerbaijan's maximalist approaches and bellicose rhetoric undermine the efforts to establish security and stability in the region.

Mirzoyan expressed gratitude to Catherine Colonna for the principled position of the French side to eliminate the consequences of September 13-14 Azerbaijani aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia. At the same time the sides highly appreciated France's role as co-chairing country of the OSCE Minsk Group in advancing the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The two attached importance to the statement adopted on October 6 in Prague following the quadrilateral meeting.

During the meeting they also touched upon the activities of the EU observation mission in Armenia and the OSCE Needs Assessment Mission.
