It is witnessed since April 2019 that Turkey's official rhetoric is completely changing upon the instruction of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Armenian turkologist Varuzhan Geghamyan noted about this at Saturday’s launch of two new books on Turkic Studies.

According to him, after the war of 2020, when it became obvious that Turkey's participation in the war is not mediated but direct, after that they started to actively preach that it is the people in Armenia who are inciting enmity towards Turks in Armenia and that there is no such thing in Turkey.

"We see not only anti-Armenian theories uttered from Erdogan's mouth, but actually circulation of these theories in a wide circle of society. Turkey does not support the agenda of achieving peace with Armenians. They tell us that we are not turkologists, but Turk-haters. In fact, they demand that we not only betray the motherland, but also science because science proves to us that we have a state [i.e., Turkey] that is anti-Armenian both in its national rhetoric and in the steps taken,” added the turkologist.
