Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said the tax revenue part of the 2023 budget is planned at the level of 2 trillion 204 billion drams, which is 946 billion drams or 75.1% more than in 2018. His remarks came during the discussion of the 2023 state budget draft in the parliament on Wednesday.

"That is, 4.5 years after the revolution, having gone through the war and COVID, we propose a budget 75% more than the 2018 budget. Defense spending will be 509 billion drams, an increase of 113% compared to 2018, that is more than twice as much. And compared to 2022, the growth is 47%. The content of these figures is very important. I'm happy to emphasize that through voluntary certification, the process of at least doubling the salaries of military personnel begins. We will have cases where there will even be a threefold increase. We are moving to a professional army. People who have chosen a military profession, and after graduation from a military school have an appointment, will get an apartment, which will be their property. They will have the right to alienate it after completing their service," Pashinyan noted.

He informed that the process of army reforms has started and will gain momentum with each passing month.
