There are no guarantees that after the signing of the framework agreement the war with Azerbaijan will be avoided. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has also previously stated about this danger, said opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan during his traditional briefings at the National Assembly on Thursday.

According to him, signing a framework agreement or moving towards signing a final document is a matter of tactics. "For example, the Madrid process also implied two stages of action. The first stage was to agree on a document on the principles of the settlement. In the second stage Karabakh itself was to take part. It was also planned to develop a more detailed peace treaty," Abrahamyan explained.

In this case, according to the deputy, it is important to understand what principles will underlie the process. If the right to self-determination is not stipulated either in a framework agreement or in a subsequent peace treaty, the process will essentially lose all meaning.

"Because it will not reflect the interests of Armenia and Karabakh," the oppositionist said, recalling that the issue of self-determination is not currently fixed in any way or anywhere.
