Luxembourg Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean Asselborn expects Armenia to prevent violation of sanctions against Russia. The minister made the statement at a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan.

According to Asselborn, violation of international law by Russia will have a long-term negative impact and the Russian-Ukrainian conflict is not only a conflict for Europe.

"We appreciate that Armenia has taken all steps to have no connection with Russia's aggression against Ukraine, in international platforms, and we call to do everything to at least maintain this position," the European minister said.

He recalled the EU sanctions against Russia and said that "we must be sure to be as effective as possible, and we hope that Armenia will do everything to prevent all possible violations of the sanctions against Russia."
