make preferableYEREVAN. – The central square of the Armenian capital, Republic Square, hosts the concert on 20th anniversary of Armenia’s independence (photos).
Heroic Ballade from the Second Symphony by Avet Terteryan opened the concert. Compositions by Alexander Achemyan, Ghazaros Saryan, Aram Khachatryan, Makar Yekmalyan, Arno Babajanyan and others also accompanied the concert. Robert Amirkhanyan’s music will close the concert.
The works will be performed by State Symphonic Orchestra conducted by Edward Topchyan and State Academic Choir conducted by Hovhannes Chekijyan.
State Song and Dance Ensemble after Tatul Altunyan and State Ensemble Barekamutyun will participate in the concert.
The Square has moving fountains, which serve as water screen together with stable ones.
