YEREVAN. - The soldiers’ march at Armenian independence parade was exemplary because "those were our children and our children are exemplary in everything, the weaponry was good because that was the weaponry purchased on people’s money, whereas their [meaning the authorities] children do not march, they drive from early childhood,” said the leader of Republic party Aram Sargsyan to opposition Armenian National Congress rally.

“During the past holidays the authorities started a massive campaign of self worship, telling how fair and honest they are and how the rays of morning sun are shine on their shoulders. They opened the new facility of Matenadaran but presented it as though Serzh Sargsyan spent his inheritance on it. Had they stolen less, they would renovate the libraries and raise pensions as well,” said Sargsyan.

Leader of Armenian People’s Party Stepan Demirchyan stressed that people leave Armenia because they do not see any perspectives, the country is owned by a group of people.

“This is unbearable, all this must end and the beginning of the end should be legitimate elections.

As long as the criminal and oligarchic system persists, the degradation process will not stop. What a shame it is not to see legitimate elections for 20 years in row,” he said.
