Armenia is in favor of unblocking all roads in the region. Alen Simonyan, speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia told about this to reporters Tuesday.

According to him, the differences on this matter are technical.

"There is a general perception. In my understanding, it’s about movement within a state. The main ‘red line’ in Azerbaijan's position [in this regard] is that it does not move from its country to a third country after going from Baku to Nakhichevan. That, in their opinion, implies that there should be a simplified version. Also, whenever we go down to Meghri from Yerevan through the territory of Nakhichevan. Our disposition is that we are in favor of unblocking all roads," Simonyan said.

"If we are talking about peace, then setting harsh preconditions, living forever in the logic of not reducing tension... If we are going to live in a state of war, that road, whatever it is, will be pointless. It would be good for the Azerbaijani side to understand all this," he said.

Simonyan expressed a belief that Azerbaijan wants to get as much as possible out of the situation—and this is understandable.

"They probably don't want to repeat the mistakes we had in the early 1990s. At the same time, I think that they are making their own mistakes and not taking many things into account; but history will show that," said the Armenian NA speaker.
