First of all, we continue to work through the Russian peacekeeping contingent and, by the way, through other channels, towards the complete unblocking of the Lachin corridor. Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian foreign ministry, said this during Wednesday’s ministry press briefing.
"And we expect that the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides will continue to fulfill all the obligations assumed by the tripartite statement of November 9, 2020; it is relevant," Zakharova added.
"I would like to add to this that we call on Yerevan not to give up work in tripartite formats. Idle time in their activities has a negative impact on the situation in the region, and generally leads to an aggravation of the situation. We call on Baku to take steps to completely unblock the [Lachin] corridor for humanitarian purposes and not to make the population of Karabakh a hostage of political differences with Yerevan," the Russian foreign ministry spokesperson emphasized.
