The meeting between the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan will take place next week in Washington D.C. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government.

"Ultimately, the international mechanism of Baku-Stepanakert dialogue should be launched, within the framework of which the issue of the rights and security of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh will be addressed," Pashinyan said.

"Regarding Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, our position remains the same: all efforts should be made to sign a treaty to establish peace and normalize relations," the Armenian PM added.

"The meeting of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan will take place in Washington next week. Our delegation is leaving for the US with this spirit," Pashinyan said.

As reported earlier, Vedant Patel, Principal Deputy Spokesperson of the US Department of State, has said that the US looks forward to hosting the next round of talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan very soon.
