The Armenian government replenished its reserve fund with 10 billion drams at Thursday's cabinet meeting.

Minister of finance Vahe Hovhannisyan presented the respective draft decision and said: "The adoption of the draft decision is conditioned by the collection of more tax revenues in the first half of the 2023 state budget than the plan indicator, which was exceeded by about 50 thousand drams. As a result, the reserve fund of the Armenian government is replenished by 10 billion drams on the account of the increase in plan indicators of additional tax revenues.

He recalled that earlier, this plan was increased by about 7.5 billion drams, of which 6.5 billion drams were allocated to Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).

In turn, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that in the first half of this year, the state budget revenues exceeded by about 49.9 billion drams, as a result of which it was decided to transfer 10 billion drams to the reserve fund.

"According to the data of the semester, we have collected 19 percent more money compared to the 1st half of 2022; in absolute terms: 176 billion drams. It is also very important to compare with the 1st half of 2018. In the first half of this year, compared to the first half of 2018, we collected 531 billion drams more, which is 92.7 percent," the premier emphasized.
