The humanitarian situation in Artsakh is becoming catastrophic by the hour because we have been under a complete blockade for a month now, and no cargo even enters Artsakh through humanitarian means. Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Minister of State Gurgen Nersisyan stated this on the air of "Factor of Power" program of Armenian News-NEWS.am.

"Although there are certain vegetables in the rural communities, which we tried to provide for the needs of the population by transporting them to [capital] Stepanakert, now we have most serious problems in this matter as well due to the lack of fuel. Agricultural work has stopped [in Artsakh] and it is not possible to continue. We even have a problem of delivering bread to the shops, and the population has to go through long lines to at least be able to obtain bread from the bakeries," he said.

To the question of how long it will be possible to withstand this situation with the existing reserves, the minister of state responded: "We have already crossed all the ‘red lines,’ and now we are voicing about an extremely dire situation, a catastrophic situation. We are now not in resistance, but in disaster. People are facing the problem of providing family members with minimum food."

"Of course, the people of Artsakh will never surrender even in the most difficult conditions, but that does not mean that people have to go through these sufferings. The problems created from this moment are a direct threat to human life," the Artsakh state minister added.
