The main aim of Azerbaijan’s military aggression in Nagorno Karabakh is to get Armenia involved in it, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a Facebook live broadcast, adding that as of now, the situation along the borders of Armenia is relatively stable.

"Look, today a number of Azerbaijani mass media, including official media or media related to the authorities, are spreading information that they are attacking the units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, referring to Nagorno-Karabakh. Unfortunately, this information is repeated by a number of our partners who say that “we call on Armenia and Azerbaijan to stop military operations.” I want to mention again that Armenia is not involved in military operations. I want to mention once again that Armenia does not have an army in Nagorno-Karabakh," he said.

Pashinyan drew the public's attention to a number of internal and external forces that want to get involved Armenia in large-scale military operations.

"It is visible and we state with our position that attempts to involve the Republic of Armenia in military escalation are unacceptable, we will manage this process. As much as we understand the many other emotional issues, we all feel in this situation. But we should not allow some external and internal forces to put Armenia's statehood under attack."

Earlier NEWS.am reported that Azerbaijan՛s Armed Forces started to use artillery along the entire line of contact in Nagorno Karabakh as of 1 p.m. on September 19, attempting to penetrate into the depth of the defense line of the Defense Forces of Nagorno Karabakh.

Stepanakert, the capital of Nagorno Karabakh, as well as other settlements are under heavy sհelling now. The Human Rights Defender of Nagorno Karabakh, Gegham Stepanyan, reported that there are multiple casualties and injuries among civilians, including children.
