We do not give in to difficulties and the Republic of Armenia has adopted a peaceful agenda, inviting all countries in the region to regulate relations and cooperate. The Government of Armenia has received a mandate from its people to bring peace and ensure an era of peaceful coexistence for future generations. This was stated today, November 18, by the Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen Simonyan during the opening ceremony of the 21st autumn session of the OSCE PA, which started in Yerevan.

“It is for this reason that Armenia is constructively participating in peace negotiations with Azerbaijan, and needless to say, achieving peace with its neighbors is not a one-sided process. After all the difficulties that the peoples of the South Caucasus have endured in recent decades, today a historic opportunity has arisen to establish peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Armenia is also sincerely interested in normalizing relations with Turkey, opening borders and communications, and is negotiating without preconditions. I very much hope that these negotiations will produce the desired results in the foreseeable future. Our region needs peace, and the vision of the Republic of Armenia is best expressed in the project called 'Crossroads of Peace,' which should be articulated as follows: all countries in the region live with open borders, roads and infrastructure, connected by active economic, political and cultural ties, having accumulated experience and traditions of resolving all issues through diplomatic and dialogue tools.

We hope for support not only from the countries of the region, but also from international partners and the public to make the South Caucasus region a crossroad of peace.
