Iran welcomes the Crossroads of Peace project put into circulation by the Armenian government. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian announced this during Wednesday’s joint news conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, in Yerevan.

"Iran supports the establishment of stable peace in the South Caucasus and the launch of the North-South transit route. Iran also welcomes the project proposed by the Prime Minister of Armenia, which was presented as the Crossroads of Peace. We are ready to be consistent for the development of the North-South transit route," said the Iranian FM.

Amir-Abdollahian added, however, that Iran wants to ensure this peace and security without the intervention of foreign forces.

"Only thanks to the regional guarantors they will be able to ensure that peace and security," he said.
