We have expressed our position; it is about internationally recognized borders. Our view is that issues should be resolved within internationally recognized borders. Iran's ambassador to Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani, told this to reporters at the Iranian embassy in Armenia Friday—and referring to the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
And commenting on the role of the US in this matter, the Iranian diplomat said: "They [i.e. the US] are attempting to turn the Caucasus into a platform to take revenge on other countries. Having experience with the great ‘devil,’ America, we [i.e. Iran] are very pessimistic about the statements made by them. We do not believe that they want the good of the peoples of the region. They are so far away [from the region] that the tension [here] will never affect them."
