Samantha Power, head of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), baked "zhengyalov hatz" with Karabakh women in Yerevan on July 9. As part of her visit to Armenia, she visited the "Taste of Artsakh" food facility, which moved from Karabakh to Armenia and received USAID support.
Power was familiarized with the recipe of traditional Karabakh "zhengyalov hatz" and then she personally cooked it. After that, the USAID head talked to the forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.
It should be noted that "Taste of Artsakh" was established after the 44-day war in 2020. The facility has been operating in Yerevan for almost 3 years. At the moment, most of the company's more than 10 employees are forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.
"Our products are the traditional Artsakh "zhengyalov hatz." At the moment, we have about 12 kinds of it," Taste of Artsakh founder-director Mihran Baghdasaryan told reporters, adding that they are honored to host the head of USAID.
