At Wednesday’s press briefing, Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), commented on the Armenian reporter's question regarding Armenian ethnic cleansing and the chances of the return of Armenians to Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
"Regarding the ethnic cleansing, to be honest, I think that you and I have already spoken, asking if the representatives of international organizations that are respected in Armenia have drawn any conclusions in this regard.
Even when we were discussing this with you six months ago, you could not give me any decision or assessment that would stem from the pen of international organizations or experts working in international organizations on ethnic cleansing.
If you have, please let me know or provide respective assessments," Zakharova said.
Also, the Russian MFA spox asked a question herself: "How does Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Vovayevich Pashinyan see the return of Armenians to Nagorno-Karabakh?"
"Regarding your question as ‘how Russia sees the solution to the issue of returning the Armenian population to their historical homeland, Nagorno-Karabakh,’ you worded it this way, I want to clarify how Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Vovayevich Pashinyan sees it. Is there any detailed plan for that?" said the Russian MFA spokesperson.
"Such a plan was presented by the Azerbaijani side. I saw that. If there is a plan made by the prime minister of Armenia, I will look [at it] with pleasure and then I will comment [on it]," Maria Zakharova stated.
