Georgia supports peace and stability in the South Caucasus. Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated this during a joint press conference Monday after his private conversation with visiting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi.

"Our [i.e. Georgia’s] efforts, particularly toward overcoming the existing difficulties in the region, continue. Georgia welcomes the positive progress towards the resolution of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. And we are ready to play our part in ensuring stability," added the Georgian premier.

The prime ministers of Georgia and Armenia exchanged views on relations between the two countries, Kobakhidze said.

Also, the Georgian PM thanked his Armenian colleague for visiting Georgia and contributing to the development of Armenian-Georgian relations.
