The project “Crossroads of the Peace” worries Azerbaijan because it can bring Armenia revenues worth tens of billions. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said today, October 12, at the forum “ Crossroads of the Peace: Combining Security and Democracy.”

“And this fact can give two potential reasons for concern. One, if Azerbaijan sincerely believes that Armenia has aggressive plans against Azerbaijan in the strategic perspective, it could create expectations that these tens of billions of dollars could be used against Azerbaijan.

But there is also something opposite - if Azerbaijan has aggressive intentions against Armenia, Azerbaijan may be concerned that these tens of billions of dollars may be used to improve Armenia's defense capabilities, and Azerbaijan may have problems in implementing its aggressive plans.

I can say that Armenia has no aggressive intentions towards Azerbaijan and the countries of the region in general. We recognize the territorial integrity of all our neighboring countries and are ready to assume de jure obligations in this regard.

Moreover, Armenia has stated that even for the return of its own occupied territories, it does not set the task of return by military means. Therefore the document we signed with Azerbaijan in the demarcation process gives all possibilities for the realization of the demarcation process on legal, legitimate bases. 

We, in fact, create all guarantees, continue this line so that none of our neighbors have suspicions about the existence of our aggressive intentions, and there will be de jure obligatory guarantees of ignorance of aggressive policy on the part of our country.

But the fact is that Azerbaijan wants to use Armenia's roads for itself, while at the same time Armenia continues to remain in a blockade. This in itself is an illogical approach, it is unacceptable for Armenia,” Nikol Pashinyan said.

“We are ready to provide a link between the western regions of Azerbaijan to the autonomous republic of Nakhchivan,” he added.
