Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Tuesday received a delegation led by Michael Carpenter, Special Assistant to the US President and Senior Director for Europe at the National Security Council.

The Armenia-US bilateral agenda, including current programs aimed at the development of strategic partnership, positive dynamics and future perspectives, were discussed at the meeting.

"Armenia is interested in continuing to develop relations with the US in directions of mutual interest, building on shared values, already recorded achievements, also exploring additional opportunities for sectoral cooperation," the Armenian FM emphasized.

Mirzoyan and Carpenter exchanged views also on regional stability and security issues.

The foreign policy chief of Armenia emphasized the efforts being made by the country towards establishing peace in the South Caucasus, and reflected on the recent discussions in the process of normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations. In this context, FM Mirzoyan stressed Armenia's interest in achieving lasting peace in the region, adding that this will find its clear expression in signing a peace treaty with Azerbaijan without delay, as well as in Armenia's vision aimed at ensuring economic development in the region.
