There was a momentary pause due to COP29, the Azerbaijani side also announced it, but we are on the positive side, we are in the proposal-discussion logic, and there is a dynamics. Speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, said this during a briefing with reporters in the NA Wednesday—and talking about the peace process with Azerbaijan.

And to the question whether there is a dynamics in terms of the return of Armenian captives in Azerbaijan, Simonyan responded: "During all the conversations, work is always carried out regarding the captives. It is ruled out that there may be a meeting where there is no conversation about the captives. I just don't think it is right to talk about it. This work likes silence, there is no matter of boasting. We had over 100 [Armenian] captives [in Azerbaijan] after the war [in 2020], now there are 23 confirmed captives [there], and know that it is one of the important talking points on our agenda."
