The International Court of Justice (ICC) and the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) consider the matter of the returning of captives to be outside their immediate jurisdiction. Yeghishe Kirakosyan, representative of Armenia for international legal affairs, told this to reporters in the National Assembly Monday

"The court is an independent body, it makes a decision based on international law," Kirakosyan said.

He added that, sadly, the matter of the returning of captives is more discussed on the political agenda.
