We are still studying the matter, this decision is very new and mainly concerns the US’ neighboring country; that is, it still requires time to study the consequences and its impact on migration flows. Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan told this to reporters at the National Assembly of Armenia Friday—and referring to the fact that the Trump administration is tightening the matter of immigration in the US and, as a result, there may be a flow of Armenians as well.

“At this point, it is still too early to assess. Even the neighboring country [of the US], Mexico, is still assessing the possible impact of the law,” added Hovhannisyan.

And when asked how Russia has reacted to Armenia’s approach to starting a European Union (EU) membership process, and whether this will hinder Armenia’s Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) membership, the Deputy FM replied: "I would like to quote the words of Russian foreign minister Lavrov that a substantive discussion was held [with Armenia] on all matters. You saw from the results and the atmosphere of that question-and-answer session that the matters were discussed in a healthy working atmosphere. As for what will happen at this or that phase, let's really leave [it] to the future."
