Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova commented on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's recent scandalous statements on the Armenian Genocide at a briefing today, February 6.
“You know, honestly speaking, I never expected that this issue would be treated differently from the historically established absolute consensus position of both the state of Armenia, the people of Armenia, and Armenians as an ethnic group. I never thought that this consolidated position, once again I say, which has been built up over the years, would be subject to any change from within the Armenian society itself. Well, you see what kind of statements we've been hearing lately. I'm talking now about the statements in Davos. But again, this is not a question for us. Our country, our position is formulated in the relevant statement of the State Duma, which we regularly cite, which you know, we quote it. I think it's simple even somehow, I don't know. But I say again, for me it was, I will allow myself some such personal assessment, I was double-checking the quotes that were coming from Davos. Our position on this issue has been formulated and has not been subject to change, so to speak,” Maria Zakharova said.
