There are a small number of cases of unburied bodies after the 44-day war in 2020 that have been recently buried. This was stated by minister of health Anahit Avanesyan at the press briefing after the Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government Thursday, adding that these burials were carried out only with the consent of the relatives of these casualties.
According to Avanesyan, there are also cases when the remains have been identified, but the relatives do not accept the results, and work in this regard is ongoing.
“Also, we are working within the framework of the interdepartmental commission group so that we can eventually bury all the remains,” Avanesyan added, without specifying how many such cases there are.
The minister of health noted that the results of the examinations conducted in Armenia and abroad coincide in all these cases.
