There is no mention of the EU monitoring mission in Armenia in the peace treaty with Azerbaijan, it is a general wording, it is about the presence of third forces, which may refer to the European Union also, but there is no mention specifically of the EU monitoring mission in the peace treaty. Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan,  told this to reporters Friday.

Speaking about the draft peace treaty with Azerbaijan, Grigoryan said: “We were able to agree on 15 articles thanks to many years of work. The last two [articles] are still not successful [in reaching an agreement], but Armenia will continue to work in that regard so we can finalize these two articles as well. Now we are conducting discussions, and when we are ready, we will send our response [to Azerbaijan].

Our approaches and Azerbaijan’s approaches to these two issues have not yet found agreement in the negotiation process. One of the questions concerns the presence of third forces on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, as well as the end of the so-called ‘diplomatic war.’”

And to the question as to what Azerbaijan demands, Armen Grigoryan replied: "It is not a question of demands here. The approaches here, as is often the case in negotiations, are different and have not found a solution until now."
