The Azerbaijani defense ministry’s recent statements are not enough and there are no grounds to claim that the peace agreement has not been successful. The speaker of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, said this in the NA Monday—and addressing the question of whether the dissemination of Azerbaijani disinformation about the shooting on the border is to delay the signing of the peace treaty.

“My personal opinion is that this was done to justify the statement of the Azerbaijani president, when he was saying that there is close to zero trust in the Armenian side. This in itself is surprising to me because our work and work style, so to speak, the publicizing of the agreement on that same treaty, speaks of the opposite,” Simonyan said, in particular.

Also, he noted that in addition to the Armenian defense ministry, the European civilian monitoring mission in Armenia has stated that there was no shooting from the Armenian side.
