As soon as the text of the new constitution of Armenia is ready, it will be publicized and introduced for public debates; but at the moment there is no ready product yet. This was stated by the minister of Justice, Srbuhi Galyan, speaking with reporters at the National Assembly of Armenia Tuesday.

To the remark that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had stated that the new constitution of Armenia will have regional significance and to the question of how this will be reflected, Galyan said: “We are talking about a constitution that does not jeopardize peace and the peace treaty [with Azerbaijan] and relations aimed at peace.”

And to question that whether they should work in such a way that the constitution does not jeopardize the peace agreement, the minister responded: "In any case, we must structure our conduct and style of work in such a way that peace is established in our country and a security environment develops."

Also, Galyan noted that she does not believe that the current constitution of Armenia hinders the aforesaid, and added that the only masters of the constitution are the people and it is up to them to decide whether or not to have a constitution.
