Satellite images cannot show whether or not bullets were fired; video recordings are needed for that. And since we are not the ones accusing, but our neighbors, that is why we say: if you have evidence, if you have video recordings, provide them to us. Defense minister Suren Papikyan told this to reporters in the National Assembly of Armenia Friday—and addressing the question of why the Armenian side does not prove with satellite photos that Azerbaijan is lying by alleging that the Armenian side broke the ceasefire and fired toward Azerbaijani positions.

“We [i.e. the Armenian side] have said that we are ready to study, investigate those video materials. So far, we have not received such responses. What can I prove, what can I talk about if there is nothing? I cannot give an assessment of why such disinformation was disseminated. This is our assessment based on the facts. If there will be facts, we are ready to study, investigate,” said the Armenian defense minister.

Also, Papikyan announced that there is no movement of Azerbaijani troops.

“In order for me to give such an assessment, intelligence data are needed. At the moment, such a phenomenon is not visible on the ground. The misinformation in the press that there are buildup, [Azerbaijani] troops’ movements is not confirmed by the [Armenian] MoD. All dangerous shots, violations which are directed at our positions, our personnel, have always been reported and explained by the MoD,” said the Armenian defense minister.
