Ordinary Armenian citizens can, in a single day, hear assurances from our government about establishing peace, while at the same time hearing threats from Azerbaijan, including threats of military force and the non-recognition of Armenia’s territorial integrity. This was stated by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during the panel discussion titled “Challenges and Opportunities for Regional Cooperation in the South Caucasus” at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum on April 12.

“Such statements are made by members of the Azerbaijani parliament, media outlets closely connected to the government, and high-ranking officials.

We have a choice: to wait another 100–200 years or to establish peace in the region and develop economic and energy cooperation.

There are many areas in which this can be done, and Georgia can take a leading role in this matter. We choose the path of cooperation, but there must be the same readiness on the other side as well,” he added.

It is worth noting that the discussion was also attended by the foreign ministers of Georgia and Azerbaijan.
