Armenia made a very specific proposal to Azerbaijan regarding the opening of communications, but no positive response was received. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, during a panel discussion on "Challenges and Opportunities for Regional Cooperation in the South Caucasus" at the Antalya Diplomatic Forum on April 12.

"We made a proposal to Azerbaijan regarding communications, according to which they would have access to our railway infrastructure, and we to theirs. The 45-kilometer section of southern Armenia is undoubtedly the shortest route connecting the two parts of Azerbaijan. We proposed using electronic devices that would allow us to avoid physical inspection of goods, as well as implementing electronic declarations through which the necessary information would be exchanged between relevant authorities, allowing transit to be carried out as quickly as possible," he added.

It is worth noting that the foreign ministers of Georgia and Azerbaijan also participated in the discussion.
